A fair car detailing commission scheme pays two jobs separately. Whoever sells a package or service earns sales commission, calculated in tiers on the money the centre actually collects, and the detailer who does each wash, polish or coating job earns hands-on commission for that job. Packages redeemed over many visits then pay the detailer visit by visit, and nobody is paid on money that has not arrived.
Why commission causes friction in car detailing centres
- The counter sells, the bay does the work. A front-desk staff member or supervisor closes the sale, while detailers do the hands-on work in the bay.
- Packages are used over months. A wash or maintenance package is paid once and redeemed visit by visit.
- Big jobs and small jobs differ. A full detailing or coating job takes far more work than a quick wash, so one flat rate feels unfair.
- Customers pay in different ways. Instalment payments such as Atome arrive after the platform’s fee.
- Busy days get messy. When several cars come in at once, it is easy to lose track of who actually did which job.
Selling and doing the work are two different jobs. Count them together and sooner or later someone will feel it is unfair. Separate sales commission from hands-on commission, and everyone knows how their effort is counted.

Two tracks of commission

1. Sales commission: on money actually collected
Pay sales commission on total collection, in tiers, not on the value written on the bill. If a customer pays in parts, the seller earns as the money arrives. For Atome payments, use the amount received after the platform’s fee. More in salon POS with Atome.
2. Hands-on commission: for each job done
Pay hands-on commission to the detailer who does each job, when the service is completed or a package visit is redeemed. Set different hands-on amounts for different services in your own policy, so a long coating job is not treated like a quick wash.
3. When two detailers share a car
Decide in advance how a job shared by two detailers is counted, and write it down. A clear rule agreed before the busy season avoids arguments after it.
Rules to write down before the next pay day
- Which services and packages earn sales commission, and the tiers.
- Which jobs earn hands-on commission, service by service.
- How package visits are paid: hands-on commission on each visit redeemed, not on the day the package is sold.
- How instalment payments are treated: sales commission on the amount received.
- How jobs are recorded on busy days, so every job is linked to the detailer who did it.

How MyBMS Pro calculates car detailing commission
MyBMS Pro is an AI-driven, next-generation SaaS management hub specifically designed for multi-branch beauty salons. Two of its features fit the way car detailing centres sell and work:

- Two-track tiered commission engine. Sales commission in tiers on total collection; hands-on commission triggered when a package visit is redeemed or a service is completed.
- Atome and BNPL support. The amount actually received after the platform’s fee is recorded and used as the base for sales commission.

FAQ
How do car detailing centres pay staff commission?
Many separate selling from doing. The person who sells earns sales commission on the money collected, and the detailer who does each job earns hands-on commission for that job.
Should detailers get commission when a package is sold or when each wash is done?
Hands-on commission is best paid on each visit redeemed. Sales commission follows the money collected for the package.
How is commission calculated when a customer pays with Atome?
Use the amount the centre actually receives after the platform’s fee as the base for sales commission.
Is there a MyBMS Pro mobile app?
No. MyBMS Pro is a web-based system used in the browser.
